The road is filled with a tremendous variation of vehicles. During high traffic, the surrounding vehicles provide a visual display of their physical “personalities”. Some are rugged and appear ready for an off-road adventure at a moments notice. Others look like they may have recently been treated at the spa, boasting a mirror shine and not a spec of dust. Some of these machines hold tremendous beauty, awesome style, and are fit for a supermodel runway.
The machines have been built with so much “personality” that we may forget that the vehicles are only the fabricated exterior enclosure of the driver. At a glance, the vehicle and the driver can easily be perceived as one.
In some cases we are not much different from our external shell. In other cases our external shell may be actually acting as a mask; a false facade to hide behind. When the mask pretends to be a true facade, a gap is created. A separation between the driver and the vehicle; your true self and your portrayal of self.
How much focus do you put towards improving your driver or buffing your fenders? When you look into the mirror and wash your face, are you cleansing your self or your mask? Is there a difference? The difference is the gap.
Bridge the gap. Accept your true self. Be a great driver. Enjoy driving a transparent vehicle.
