As we travel through our journey, we tend to collect personal items. We assign personal meaning to our chattel. Some meanings become heavier as we travel through the winters. The heaviest items steal our attention as we struggle a steep uphill climb. Regardless of our surroundings, our focus may become fixated on the very things that restrict our forward movement. Our senses become wounded, lacking connection to the elements that fuel our will to reach the next peak.
You are surrounded by beauty but you may not see it.
You are surrounded by scents but you may not smell it.
You are surrounded by silence but you may not hear it.
You are surrounded by love but you may not feel it.
Be mindful of your path. Purposely be aware of the moment. Drop the baggage that weighs you down. Carry only the tools that help carry you forward. Remember the past. Expect the future. Feel the present.
Release the past. Welcome the future. Live now.

LOVE this! Very wise words. Today (and hopefully every day) I shall look around and notice the unnoticed. Release the baggage!

Especially true as you near the “end of life” phase. Cast off those things and embody peace-filled thoughts. You truly will not take them with you and they can distract you from the joy of just being.
