The winter was cold. It felt absolute cold, at times. Movement halted, so it seems.

Most of us recall that molecules slow down in low temperatures. Scientist Robert Boyle presented the concept of “absolute cold”  in 1665.  In 1848, Lord Kelvin derived his temperature scale, extrapolating backward to “absolute zero”.  Absolute zero (-273 degrees Fahrenheit; or zero Kelvin) is the temperature that molecular movement theoretically halts.

More recent findings indicate that as the temperature reaches Absolute Zero, certain materials have quantum characteristics of super-fluidity and superconductivity. Super-fluidity defies gravity while superconductivity has no electrical resistance.

No resistance. None.

On a basic level it seems that the slower we physically move, the less resistance our thoughts (electrical impulses) are under. The vehicles on the road may have stalled but the drivers may have sharpened their senses. We gain from the winter. Our body slows to rejuvenate while our minds become sharper. Winter provides the rich environment to allow our thoughts to flow with less resistance. Connect with the universe. The average temperature of the universe is fairly close to absolute zero. Minimum resistance.

Back on Earth, our human cycles are measured in groups of four seasons. The seasons are defined by the cyclical changing of the Earth’s axis in relationship to the Sun.  As we pass the Vernal point, the northerners know that our physical motion needs to increase in speed.

Feel the winter thaw. Our minds are clear. It is time to increase our motion. Sow the seeds that were nurtured during the winter. Allow those molecules to start moving faster.
